Introducing Duocast Connect+ (DC+)
Introducing Duocast Connect+, the fastest broadband connection between the north of the Netherlands and connectivity metropolis Amsterdam. Boasting an initial capacity of 800 Gigabits per second, Duocast Connect+ can be expanded to accommodate transfers of up to 32 Terabits per second. Duocast Connect+ will launch this autumn.
Improved connectivity for the northern part of the Netherlands
Duocast Connect+ is our initiative to improve the link between the northern and western parts of the Netherlands. With its massive capacity it will create opportunities for businesses, thus driving both economic and social growth in the north. The Amsterdam region, which houses the major Internet exchanges, faces increasing shortages both in terms of energy supply and readily available public space. Driven in part by the enormous increase in data center activity, these shortages have forced companies to relocate to other parts of the Netherlands. Due to its unique nature Duocast Connect+ makes Groningen a premium spot for companies looking to expand their business.
Best in class technology and DWDM optical fiber multiplexing
Working closely with two top-tier partners we ensure the highest standards will be met with Duocast Connect+. Nokia provides us with the latest equipment suited to the task, while we partner with Relined to utilize their reliable fiber network. We ensure maximum bandwidth and ultra-low latency by combining the expertise of our partners with DWDM optical fiber multiplexing. Duocast Connect+ is unique in offering readily available capacity, sharp rates, and the ability to expand when necessary.

Available this year
The launch of Duocast Connect+ will proceed over several phases. In Q4 of 2024, larger data centers QTS and NorthC in Groningen will be connected to Nikhef and Equinix AM7 in Amsterdam, as well as DCF2 in Leeuwarden and Cellnex in Lelystad. 10Gbps and 100Gbps connections can be supplied in as little as one working day. We will further expand capacity to reach a maximum bandwidth of 32Tpbs in the coming years.

Nokia: advanced DWDM technology
Duocast Connect+ is powered by Nokia’s advanced 1830 Photonic Service Switch (PSS). The PSS offers scalable and optimized end-to-end optical transport solutions designed specifically for long distance connectivity.
The 1830 Photonic Service Switch (PSS) is an ecosystem of DWDM multiservice, multilayer P-OTN transport platforms that provide efficient transport regardless of scale. The 1830 PSS enables us to keep scaling our platform to meet unpredictable demands. The platforms leverage advanced coherent transport delivered by Nokia Photonic Service Engine (PSE), agile line systems, and ultra-scalable P-OTN switching.
Technical overview
Duocast Connect+ takes care of the complexities of long distance optical connectivity. The interfaces made available in the participating data centers are for all intents and purposes identical to a regular fiber optic connection between two interfaces in the same rack space.

As we partner with Relined, Duocast Connect+ employs their robust and expansive network comprising some 50.000 kilometers in Northwestern Europe. The network stretches through the Netherlands, Germany, and Denmark, and offers essential redundant and short distance routes. This includes offshore connections such as the COBRA Fiber Optic Cable. Relined enables us to both guarantee the kind of stability and reliability you depend on for your critical processes and to meet your growing demands.
