Duocast Connect+ with advanced technology

Duocast Connect+ with advanced technology

Duocast Connect+ uses Nokia's advanced 1830 Photonic Service Switch (PSS). This technology provides scalable and optimised end-to-end optical transport solutions for, among others, long-distance networks. The 1830 Photonic Service Switch (PSS) is a family of DWDM multiservice, multilayer P-OTN transport platforms that deliver efficient transport at any scale. With the 1830 PSS, we can continuously scale our network to meet unpredictable traffic demands. The platforms use advanced coherent transport delivered by the Nokia Photonic Service Engine (PSE), flexible line systems, and ultra-scalable P-OTN switching.

Technical service description

With Duocast Connect+, all the complexity of lighting fibre over long distances is handled entirely by Duocast. The interfaces in the connected data centres are identical to a standard connection between two network components in a rack.

  • Interface type: 10GBase-LR, 100GBase-LR1, 100GBase-LR4

  • OSI Layer: 1 | MTU: Unlimited Layer 2

  • VLANs: Unlimited

Advanced fibre technology from Relined

Duocast Connect+ draws on the advanced fibre technology of Relined, which manages a reliable and extensive network of approximately 50,000 kilometres across North-West Europe. This network, stretching across the Netherlands, Germany, and Denmark, provides essential redundant and shorter routes, including offshore connections such as the COBRA Fibre Optic Cable. This enables us to guarantee a robust and reliable network that is essential for the continuity of your business processes and growing international network needs.

Economic and social growth in the northern Netherlands

By combining Relined's fibre infrastructure, Nokia's advanced technology, and Duocast's knowledge and experience, we have made it possible to open up the northern Netherlands with the heaviest and fastest fibre connection available. This means that businesses and organisations in the northern Netherlands can grow — economically and socially — without technical constraints. And as no-nonsense Groningers, we are quietly rather proud of that.
